There’s something we want you to see.

Your gift of $250 on March 18 is already walking with children on Country, in their First Language and Culture.

Picture Kysaiah, four years old, stepping out into the golden desert morning. Children's Ground is an Aboriginal Community Controlled and Owned Organisation whose governance comes from the land and from the people — driving long-term, generational change through First Nations culture and leadership, and breaking cycles of injustice with self-determination, evidence and opportunity.
His day moves between two languages. Early learning stays grounded in First Language and cultural knowledge while literacy, numeracy and digital confidence grow alongside identity. Across three regions — Central Australia, West Arnhem and Darwin — the system kept maturing in 2025, carried by over 200 staff, 70% of them First Nations. Local employment became a driving force of change: working families, role models and cultural safety, radiating outward like the sun on their emblem.
By afternoon Kysaiah is on Country with his grandmothers, learning bush medicine, painting and counting the way it has always been taught here. The circle widens — from one child to a whole community moving together.
This year an independent Australian Government evaluation confirmed the Children's Ground Approach as a leading, community-led, place-based and First Nations-led model for prevention and early intervention. Founding Chair William Tilmouth was awarded the 2025 Australian Human Rights Medal for a lifetime advancing the rights and self-determination of First Nations peoples.

Stepping into this role is about continuing the vision of the old girl, Dr M.K. Turner OAM. Her vision was grounded in cultural knowledge and a clear understanding of what children and communities need to thrive over the long term... this role represents a commitment to carrying that vision forward.— Evelyn Schaber, Co Chair, Children's Ground
