There’s something we want you to see.

Your gift of $150 on April 2 is already helping return the bush to good health — healthy Country, protected forever.

The sun had just started to dip over Naree Station Reserve, on Budjiti Country in north-west New South Wales. Out in the open, a choir of hundreds of migratory birds sang, absorbing all other sounds — a moment of total sensory immersion in nature. Bush Heritage Australia is a leading conservation organisation returning the bush to good health, using the best science and right-way knowledge alongside Traditional Custodians.
This year, backed by supporters like you, Bush Heritage protected Nil Desperandum — a huge win for one of the least-disturbed parts of the Murray–Darling Basin, where 400-year-old Coolabah trees still provide nesting sites for hundreds of migratory birds. In south-west Western Australia, on Goreng Noongar Country, you also helped acquire Dodgey Downs, expanding critical habitat for some of the country's most threatened species.
Guided by an ambitious 2030 Strategy — to double the land actively protected by the close of the decade — the work reached from the Kimberley to Tasmania: sustaining diverse ecosystems through active management of fires, ferals and weeds, and deepening partnerships with Traditional Custodians and farmers.
Every timely win for nature is yours to celebrate. Healthy Country, protected forever.

Listening to the birds in the late afternoon light was a soul-stirring moment that powerfully underscored the importance of protecting this precious freshwater system.— Sue O'Connor, President, Bush Heritage Australia
